Osteria
3277 Sacramento Street
(between Lyon St & Presidio Ave)
San Francisco, CA 94115
(415) 771-5030
After a trusted friend recommended this place as a great value, locals secret in Laurel Heights, I went to Osteria for some Italian food. My friend was right! I had always thought that, being on Sacramento Street, the bustling Italian restaurant was for higher-income budgets. Well, as another friend always says… rich people are rich ‘cuz deep down they like bargains, too.

Pomi Marinara Sauce Discontinued at Trader Joe’s?
After months of speculation and eagerly asking store managers at the SoMa, Arguello, and North Beach Trader Joe’s, Grubgirl has pieced together enough rumors to quietly accept that Pomi ain’t coming back at TJ’s.
Background:
Pomi was the lone marinara sauce in a box at the store - supposedly the freshest of jarred or canned sauces, and it avoided any tinniness that can come with canned sauces. Although it’s still sold at upmarket establishments like HomeChef and Mollie Stone’s, somehow TJ’s was able to get the stuff at a bargain.

Looking for some Chicago-style pizza and too tired to drive to Berkeley? Look no further, check out this place.
Little Star Pizza
846 Divisadero St.
San Francisco, CA 94117
(415) 441-1118
Non-descript and tucked away on Divisadero, you could miss it unless you’re looking for the sign. The street is actually pretty quiet and there are no people milling around, but once you open the doors and enter…it’s like entering a whole new world. The jukebox is playing, the hiply-dressed and casually-dressed are intermingling, and there’s even Pabst Blue Ribbon if you want it.
