A brain health blog written by the brainiac folks over at Lumosity warns that not all fish is brain food. Apparently, fish like tilapia don’t contain the right fatty acids in them to make them exactly healthy.
And there I was, thinking tilapia was the new chicken of the sea — white fish, kind of tasteless, a little cheaper, and takes on whatever flavor you put on it. Guess not.
Of course, there’s another side to the story, as one commenter duly notes. Corn-fed fish, in general, are not full of the good fatty acids. (When the heck did fish start getting fed corn, anyway?!, is my real question… but then sometimes it’s just better to be in the dark.)

Good tip from Fast Food Critic — Friday (7-11-08), 7-Eleven (the store) is going to give away 1 free Slurpee per person. There’s a black-colored Slurpee that they’re debuting too…though I’m one for neon-colored shaved ice drinks.
If you live in San Francisco, better figure out your plan of attack now with this Store Locator — I only see 2 close to me in the Richmond…

As the comments do note, this little health code violation has been cleaned up. But компютриvermin photos from Eater SF are always a nice thing to see. Now is that really a rat in the grainy photos or a fuzzy mitten or glove? You decide… (sort of like Dick Cheney and the naked woman reflected in his sunglasses.)

Studies have shown that dressing for success at the office helps create a good impression at work. But eating for success? An article at food site CHOW asks readers if eating leftovers at work creates a negative “upward mobility” impression.
Bringing leftovers in Tupperware is like wearing an old cardigan to work: There’s nothing wrong with it, but it doesn’t project power and success. What you eat can send a subliminal message about who you are, just as much as what you wear.
