Next time you plan to seat yourself and some friends in front of the boob tube for some quality couch time, serve up this easy snack. It’s not exactly light on the calories or for the lactose intolerant, but otherwise it’s a must eat.
Easy Chili Dip
1 regular rectangular block of Philadelphia Cream Cheese
1 regular can of spicy BEANLESS chili (yes, that exists)
1 bag of tortilla chips
1 pot
1 stirring spoon

Kudos to Sharon Harvey Rosenberg, aka The Frugal Duchess, for listing out 11 Tips for Cutting Grocery Bills from Consumers Union.
The one that caught me?
Be wary of circulars: Featured products in circulars often see a spike of up to 500 percent in sales volume. So stores like to highlight lots of items in their weekly circulars. The catch, says Shop Smart: “Not all items in circulars are on sale [at a discount].”
Gasp!

Wow, I rarely crossover my Yelp reviews with my Grubgirl reviews, but…this one gets posted in both places. Why? Humongous (2-3 lbs) regular burritos with tons of pretty good carne asada in it, for how much? $4.20, folks.
And, these burritos include what other restaurants would consider “only good for Super Burritos”: lettuce, sour cream, and tomatoes. Wow. Too bad there isn’t one closer to my ‘hood otherwise they’d be giving El Burrito Express some competition!

Ok, I’m impressed by the blogger who tried spending $30 (only) on food in one month. Hungry for a Month is the name and though I haven’t read every day, color me impressed that someone else actually considers the salt & pepper (and ketchup??) available for free. Well, as my mom would say, we’ve actually paid for it already since it’s all factored in to the price of our meals…
