Brother, can you spare a dime? Or more like $10.40? Depending on your income bracket, you may or may not be getting some relief from the government once you’ve figured out your income taxes. Regardless, you should avoid wallowing in self-pity on April 15th, and enjoy the company of others by grabbing a value-oriented dinner.
McCormick & Kuleto’s in San Francisco, and Spenger’s Fresh Fish Grotto in Berkeley will be offering some Tax Relief 2009 discounts.
Grubgirl usually doesn’t write about deals where you have to spend money first before saving money, but maybe our dear readers are ok with this as long as there’s perceived value. You let us know.
What they’re offering on Tax Day:
- A Tax Relief Gift Certificate good for $10.40 off your next dinner;
- Special dinner entrees valued at $10.40 (if you don’t get the significance of 1040, I’m sure some men in black would like to talk to you);
- The following drink specials will be offered all day (in case you want to begin your celebrating or commiserating early). Don’t feel obligated to drink just what your tax situation matches you up with.
- “In the Clear” – A classic Finlandia Martini straight up
-
“In the Green” – A Herradura Melon Margarita
-
“In the Black” – A Jack Daniels Black Manhattan
-
“In the Red” – A Finlandia Mango Cosmo with fresh lime juice and cranberry
-
“Deduction Draft” – A pint of Sam Adams Boston Lager
If you’re moved enough to support a local establishment, and have some change to spare (which can get you some cleaner conditions than the usual places we review here), why not pay them a visit and mention that you read about it here.
