Who can beat meat burritos for $3.50 (and this is after they’ve recently raised prices from $3.10!)? Not only that, they don’t skimp on the ingredients — you get a normally-sized flour tortilla (you can pick a flavor) with rice, beans, guacamole, onions, tomatoes, and your choice of grilled steak, grilled pork, grilled chicken, or the pull chicken. Orders come with a bag of chips (though I have always had to ask for the little container of salsa to go along with it).

Easy Thai Iced Tea Recipe

I got this from a former co-worker…and it she’s right — it tastes like the stuff in restaurants.

You have to have access to an Asian grocery store to get the tea ingredients. In San Francisco, try the “New May Wah” grocery store on Clement Street.

Ingredients:

1 c. loose Thai tea
1/3 c. jasmine tea
8 c. boiling water
1 c. sugar for sweetness (vary according to taste)

Add the tea to the boiling water and keep at a low boil for 5 minutes.
Add sugar.
Pour into a pitcher and chill.
Add a little Half & Half into each serving to taste.

Giovanni Pasta Salad Recipe

Giovanni Pasta is named after a secret submitter’s roommate’s late Uncle Giovanni (got all that?). We hear that this is an idiot-proof recipe and that it keeps very well, so that’s why this recipe makes so much!

Ingredients:

2 lbs pasta – farfalle (bowtie) or other choice
½ bunch fresh italian parsley
½ bunch fresh basil
½ package fresh chives
4 cloves garlic (about ¼ of a bulb)
½ cup olive oil
¼ stick butter
salt, pepper, crushed red pepper flakes
