Taco Mesa: Taco Tuesday
Taco Mesa
Costa Mesa
949-642-0629
Dollar Days on Tuesdays at Taco Mesa means good al pastor, carnitas, veggie, shredded beef, or shredded chicken tacos for $1 each! Mmmm mmm.
They also serve a soup of the day for $1 for 8 ounces.
As I reviewed earlier, it’s a casual “order at the window” joint with good salsas, and fairly decent-sized legit tacos. The chips are a little odd — dark red, perhaps a roasted tomato. If you’re in the OC, definitely hit this spot!
Little Star Pizza: Almost as Good as Zachary’s?
Looking for some Chicago-style pizza and too tired to drive to Berkeley? Look no further, check out this place.
Little Star Pizza
846 Divisadero St.
San Francisco, CA 94117
(415) 441-1118
Non-descript and tucked away on Divisadero, you could miss it unless you’re looking for the sign. The street is actually pretty quiet and there are no people milling around, but once you open the doors and enter…it’s like entering a whole new world. The jukebox is playing, the hiply-dressed and casually-dressed are intermingling, and there’s even Pabst Blue Ribbon if you want it.
