Eat Smart When You Dine Out: 10 Restaurant Secrets

A Busy KitchenAfter reading “10 Things Your Restaurant Won’t Tell You” over on MSN Money, you should really consider cooking that pasta dish at home, or getting your dinner from an over-the-counter restaurant.

Here are two examples that you should always remember:

  • Our specials are anything but. Every culture has its leftover dish – something tasty originally made of a whole bunch of leftover ingredients. Think of pizza, fried rice, burritos, vegetable bean soup… Well, restaurants are no different.
  • Never go out to eat on a Monday. Sure you may get seated, but, if there isn’t a lot of table turnover in the restaurant, chances are that your fresh ingredients are experiencing that “not so fresh” feeling.
