Tiger Beer, Curry, and CelebrASIAN

David wrote in to tell me about a free food event on September 15 in San Francisco’s Cow Hollow district.

From the looks of what he wrote, we’re talking some Tiger Beer samples, free curry samples, and even a little massage. Tiger Beer is from Singapore (home of Raffles Hotel, the Merlion, and the Singapore Sling cocktail), and I think this is a big marketing push to build brand awareness in SF, or the States as a whole.

“Tiger Beer an award-winning gold medal lager from Singapore and perfect
pairing for spicy foods, is proud to sponsor a month long Curry
CelebrASIAN.

Featuring San Francisco’s best curries the inaugural Curry CelebrASIAN will
kick off with a Southeast Asian bazaar at The Blues Jean Bar (1827 Union Street, Cow Hollow) on Monday, September 15.

Beginning at 6pm join us for Tiger Beer and curry pairings, indulge in the
expert advice of CurrySimple.com’s Mike Moran, and relax with an authentic
Thai massage, all to the backdrop of Asian-infused music.

Call Shannon Flannigan to RSVP at 310.800.5024.

This kickoff event is designed to prepare both curry lovers and the curry
curious for the Curry CelebrASIAN continuing through October 15, which will
take place at several participating restaurants each featuring a distinct
curry from a Southeast Asian region paired with Tiger Beer’s refreshing
blend of Australian barley and German hops.”

Wait, I thought it was a Sinaporean beer – what’s with the Aussie & German ingredients? 😉 No matter…I’ll be there for the curries. If you actually check out CurrySimple.com, they sell curry flavorings (and some Thai Ice Tea concentrate). If they’ll be used to make some of the curries at this event, I’ll be in the front of the line making sure the flavors are legit. (Hopefully they have a super spicy one!). If any of you readers are able to stop by, let me know!
