New York Times’ Worst Foods in America

Lifehacker pointed out a New York Times book review of some of the worst foods to eat in America. I was a little worried that one of my ice cream favorites would be on the list, but the summary actually pointed out a more surprising winner:

Worst Fast Food Meal: McDonald’s Chicken Selects Premium Breast Strips with creamy ranch sauce. Chicken sounds healthy, but not at 870 calories.

As a person who loves her fried meat or potatoes with a side of ranch or mayonnaise, this was an eye opener.

For you frequent business travelers, take note of this guilty pleasure:

Worst Airport Snack: Cinnabon Classic Cinnamon Roll. Packed with 813 hot gooey calories and 5 grams of trans fats.

I suppose I shouldn’t be too surprised that my favorite mall treat isn’t especially healthy. And it probably doesn’t help that I prefer the Cinnabon variation with candied pecans and frosting. Maybe they should throw a few strips of bacon on top for good measure.
